AI Activists Support Florida Moratorium Tour

Marisa Gwaltney, SDPAC-Florida, secured an SIF grant to support the Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty's Florida Moratorium Tour. From April 6 - 18, the tour will cover 10 cities.

AI student activists, members of the clergy, local elected officials, and other community leaders attended these gatherings to hear Bud Welch (the father of an Oklahoma City bombing victim) discuss his experience of moving from violence to healing, and why he does not want to see Timothy McVeigh executed. Murder victims family members and death row survivors, SueZann Bosler, Bill Pelke, and George White, presented their experiences, and an update on Florida's death penalty was given.
