Love and Compassion for All - The 2014 African Journey of Hope

We are excited to share updates from the Journey of Hope…From Violence to Healing's recent trip to Africa. Led by murder victims' family members, the Journey of Hope conducts public education speaking tours and addresses alternatives to the death penalty. A team of Journey of Hope members and allies - victims’ family members Bill Pelke and SueZann Bosler, family members of executed prisoners Babu Babbitt and Randy Gardner, Terri Steinberg whose son was on death row and is still fighting to be released from prison for a crime he did not commit, exoneree Curtis McCarty, photographer Scott Langley, and Equal Justice USA staffer Colleen Cunningham - traveled to Kenya and Uganda to spread their message of love and compassion with storytelling and activism. The following is a short report on the trip from Journey of Hope co-founder Bill Pelke.
